Look who is grabbing his foot?!?! For some reason he consistently prefers grabbing his left foot - mommy is hoping this means he will be a lefty.

Crab season

We went to Fisherman's Wharf on Sunday to get crab, fresh off the boat! Alex was sceptical, naturally, being a native-born son - a San Franciscan going to the Wharf, by choice? Huh? Anyway, mom and dad discovered it was well worth it - the crab really is better than that from the local market (i.e. Andronico's). More expensive, yes, but tastier! We'll be making that trip again.

Hanging with Matthew

The Willard's visited the Howard's tonight - to eat Chinese food and trim the Xmas tree. We never got to the tree, but we did have some fine food.

Alex is 4 months old today. What a difference a couple of months will make - look at Matthew in these pics, only a couple months older, but already so advanced!

Here are a couple of pics from our house as well, including one with Alex sitting in front of our tree!

Christmas time!

Alex got his first tree today - a perfect Douglas fir. It was a tough choice between Noble and Douglas, but we are confident with our choice.

Recent pics

We've neglected the blog for the past couple of weeks. Here are a few shots from Napa during Thanksgiving, visiting Bridget in SJ with her new daughter Nina, and in the City (with Ale, and wearing his strawberry knit cap)!

Alex and Mom are doing well. He continues to have funky sleep patterns, waking a couple of times / night. But overall he is awesome! We feel so lucky to have been blessed with the cutest baby ever. What are the odds?!?!

To the beach!

3 months old!

Alex turns 3 months old today, and oh what a ride it has been... Adair's sleep deprivation will hopefully get better over the coming weeks, now that Alex has transitioned to his crib! That's right, last night was his first night, and all-in-all things went pretty well. Another exciting development involves nipples - namely a new bottle nipple, which Alex seems not to mind. Daddy has now been able to give Smiley a bottle two days in a row.

A surprisingly beautiful weekend here - we are heading down Hwy 1 today, towards Half Moon Bay, to enjoy one of the beautiful beaches along the San Mateo county coast. Yesterday we took a walk in the Park, and stopped in to explore the new Academy of Sciences. Alex was asleep the entire time, so he won't remember the penguins. What a place!

Sitting up?

Alex and daddy were playing on the bed today, and Alex sat up (with a bit of help from dad).

Wet and tired in Tahoe

Alex got to experience Tahoe for the first time last week - unfortunately it was a wet, cold weekend, so we couldn't get out much. Nonetheless it was great to be in the mountains, and we are looking forward to our next trip up. Squaw anyone?

Alex meets his great grandma

Alex and Co. flew to Denver for a SURPRISE 90th birthday celebration for Great-grandma Adams. We got to meet some new family members and catch up with others we saw just weeks ago. It was a great trip - thanks to Grandma Margie and Papa for arranging the whole thing! Alex and cousin Abby love each other very much - she must have given him 1,000 kisses over the 4 day weekend. Alex did great on the flight out and back (mom and dad were so relieved)!
